The Government have introduced a legal requirement that, prior to marketing commercial premises, they must first have been assessed and rated in respect of their energy efficiency. This is recorded in the form of an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) comprising two elements; an Energy Efficiency Certificate (Asset Rating) that ranks the current energy efficiency of a building and a Recommendation Report that highlights ways of improving its rating.
