NG on hand to help CPW move on up

15th October 2014

NG Chartered Surveyors, on behalf of its client GW Price Ltd, has helped a growing M&E consultancy expand in Nottingham.

Couch Perry Wilkes (CPW), a firm of M&E Consultants based at 39 Stoney Street in the Lace Market; has moved into the larger first floor suite after outgrowing its ground floor office in the same building.

Jonathon Seddon, Director at NG, said: “This is a great move for CPW, and for our client GW Price Ltd. It’s a perfect example of how a landlord can work in conjunction with a tenant to the betterment of both parties.”

CPW had outgrown its existing ground floor accommodation, but rather than relocating to a different building, a deal was structured whereby the company took a larger refurbished suite on the first floor of the building whilst retaining a ground floor board room for a longer term.

Jonathon added: “By working closely with CPW and its agent, Robert Maxey of HEB, the move was handled in such a fashion as to cause minimal disruption to the tenants business and a valued tenant was retained.”

Ashley Cowdrey of CPW, said: Our business has grown steadily since we took our first office in this building nearly 5 years ago, and we needed a larger floorplate.

“We now have a much nicer working environment, with more space for break-out working and ‘hot-desking’ for staff from our other office in Leicester. We’ve found room for a good-sized shower and changing facility, as a lot of our staff cycle or run to work. We also have room to accommodate further expansion as, hopefully, the construction environment continues into recovery

Ashley said he was delighted with the way the deal progressed: “we already have a good working relationship with the landlord and his agent Jonathon at NG. We really like the location of the office so outside of any legal issues and rent negotiations, there was little for us to think or worry about.”

Michael Price of landlord GWP Price, added: “We take great pride on the long standing relationships we’ve built with the tenants of both our buildings on Stoney Street.  We are delighted that we’ve been able to accommodate CPW’s expansion and we wish them all the very best for the future”.

Robert Maxey of Heb , who acted for CPW, said: “We were delighted to act on behalf of our much-valued clients CPW on this occasion, to assist in their ongoing growth. We carried out an extensive search and considered a variety of city centre options. At the end of the day however the landlord and his team’s excellent ‘hands on’ approach made an expansion within Stoney Street an easy choice.”
