Top Designers Showcase Potential of £25m Pod Complex
19th November 2010
Nottingham developer, Sean Akins, has brought in top architects and designers to draw up options for offices at his £25m Pod. The Fletcher Gate site is already home to the Ibis Hotel, Tesco furniture store, Dwell, and gym operator, Fitness for Less.
Sean Akins of developers Bildurn has brought in Shed KM, the acclaimed architects and designers of Fort Dunlop in Birmingham for Urban Splash to showcase the huge potential of the space and ensure the interior reflects the striking exterior architecture. The scheme includes a feature double height atrium, extensive natural daylight and sky lighting, unique outdoor and also rooftop terracing with panoramic views over the City.
The iconic and award winning building, designed by Edinburgh architects, Benson & Forsyth, is located in the heart of the City and a key feature is accessibility, being close to the tram route and opposite a 550 space car park.
Nick Dunn of NG Chartered Surveyors said “this award winning space will be attractive to a very special tenant, someone wanting inspiring space but with top class facilities in the heart of a thriving City”. He added “the internal space, with the exception of the reception, is in a shell condition and Bildurn worked up a series of potential fit-out packages which can enable the space to be tailored to the occupier’s needs within 14 weeks. It is vitally important when space provides such potential that the occupier benefits from a stimulating fit-out and has the reassurance that they will be in occupation quickly”.
