Appliances Company Moves from Online to Outlet with New Kirby Showroom
19th March 2013
A successfeul Nottinghamshire-based online appliances retailer is making its first move into high street trading with a brand new showroom in Kirkby-in-Ashfield after a year of record sales.
Ship it Appliances has taken on a long term lease of a 2,684 sq ft property at 40 Kingsway in a deal done by NG Chartered Surveyors that was completed in just one week from viewing to handing over the keys.
The retailer needed bigger space for its office and distribution centre, having outgrown its previous accommodation in just one year, and decided that it was the right time to open up a physical outlet.
Henry Henson, of NG Chartered Surveyors, said: “I’m really pleased that Ship it Appliances have found the right space for them to be able to open their first showroom. Its great to see a retailer bucking the trend by moving from online sales to physical outlets.
“I helped Ship it Appliances find their previous property at Moorgreen Industrial Estate near Eastwood and when they called to say their property requirement had changed, I was able to point them in the direction of something better suited.
“I’ve enjoyed seeing the company grow and its been a pleasure to have helped the company with its property needs every step of the way.”
Ship it Appliances was founded in 2010 as on online kitchen appliances retailer. It has built a reputation for providing quality brands at the best price and in the last year the company has seen a huge increase in turnover.
Mark Wheatley, the landlord of 40 Kindsway, said: “I’m pleased that Ship it Appliances has been secured as a new tenant for the property. The directors are astute businessmen with ambitious plans for growth and I wish them every success for the future. I’ve been working with NG for many years and its a pleasure to do business with the team.”
Ship it Appliances is currently doing renovation works on the property to prepare for the opening of its new showroom in two weeks’ time.
