Castle Donington Industrial Estate Almost at Full Capacity
2nd July 2013
A popular Castle Donington industrial estate is nearly at full occupancy after the completion of five new deals.
Acting on behalf Threadneedle Property Investments Limited, NG Chartered Surveyors and joint agents Mather Jamie have welcomed three new tenants to Trent Lane Industrial Estate in the last 12 months, as well as helping two current tenants take on more space.
The deals have seen ten units totalling approximately 55,000 sq ft of space let – with only three units remaining vacant ranging from circa 6,000 sq ft to approximately 13,000 sq ft. Popularity of the estate increased after a £500,000 investment was made to parts of it.
Sunny Landa, from NG Chartered Surveyors, said: “I’m really pleased that we’ve been able to fill up so much space in such a short amount of time.
“When we first took on the marketing of this estate with Mather Jamie in 2012, we started to re-brand the estate with new signage, brochures and a website. But most significant was the £500,000 refurbishment the landlords brought to units 3 to 6 – which included new offices, roofs, doors, utility services and landscaping.
“This really boosted interest in the estate as a whole and helped to showcase its full potential to prospective tenants.”
The estate is historically popular with logistics and distribution companies because of its proximity to the M1 and East Midlands Airport.
New tenants include Birlea Furniture and Five One Two (EMA) – a logistics company.
Gill Lister, director of Five One Two (EMA), said: “We chose to move our headquarters to Trent Lane because we’re a growing business and wanted bigger warehouse space as well as an office facility. It was very difficult finding suitable space, but the units at Trent Lane were exactly what we needed. The location is fantastic and offers easy access to national and international transport links.”
Space has also been let to existing companies who have expanded, including Plant and Consumable Services Ltd and Air World Services.
Alex Reid of Mather Jamie said: “This is the perfect location for distribution companies – it has great national and international transport links. It’s also excellent value for money and the landlord is really in tune with what tenants need. Both of the companies which have taken on more space on the estate are happy that they have been able to stay on.”
Trent Lane Industrial estate is asset managed by Collingwood Rigby LLP on behalf of Threadneedle Property Investments Limited.
