Drone flies in speedy Schedule of Condition

Acting on behalf of Designer Carpets and Remnants Ltd, the benefits of a combined ground inspection and drone aerial survey enabled Richard Brown to quickly and effectively draft up and produce a comprehensive Photographic Schedule of Condition for attachment to a new lease the company was taking of premises at Quarry Hill, Ilkeston.
The success of Designer Carpets, who were already established on Belfield St, Ilkeston, meant they needed additional warehouse and display space within the town, and they identified the 4,300 sq ft warehouse unit on Merlin Way. In order to protect that position in respect of future repairing liability, Sam Shaw of Designer Carpets instructed Richard Brown to prepare the Schedule of Condition at short notice. Richard said:
“The parties were both close to completing the lease when we were instructed, and therefore the benefit of being able to quickly roll out the drone to view the roof areas as part of the exercise, meant we were able to inspect and issue a draft Schedule for approval at short notice, and ultimately enable the lease to complete on time. The advantage of being able to overfly the whole unit rather than being limited to inspecting from a cherry picker, was one of the main reasons NG invested in the drone, and it has proved its worth.
