Land Sale at Private Road No. 5 in Colwick
24th October 2012
The American author, Mark Twain, may have been using bad grammar when he said “buy land, they’re not making it any more”, but the sentiment has certainly been heeded by Andrew Cooper who has just acquired a site off private clients of NG Chartered Surveyors.
The half acre site on Private Road No. 5 on the Colwick Industrial Estate previously housed a single-storey office building which was in an extremely dilapidated state. However, its condition was not of significance to Mr Cooper, as he intends to demolish the building in order to develop a number of light industrial units.
Jonathon Seddon of NG Chartered Surveyors who handled the sale commented, “It was apparent when we were first appointed that the site would generate a good level of interest and that has proven to be the case. What has been telling though is that a number of parties which had been hanging their noses over the property, only came forward with offers once we had agreed the sale. I think it is a classic case of fortune favouring the brave and I am delighted that Andrew came forward and moved the sale swiftly through to completion. He intends to develop a terrace of small workshop units, which I think will be well received by the market given the paucity of good quality stock in the City and this is something I’ll be helping him with.”
The vendor of the site, Neil McHugh, commented, “I have been pleased with the service provided by Jonathon at NG, who has achieved a great result and I wish Andrew Cooper all the very best with his plans for the unit in the future“.
Another one acre site nearby which was under offer to be sold has recently become available again and interested parties are recommended to come forward sooner rather than later.
