New Addition to Nottingham’s Medical Golden Mile
27th February 2013
NG Chartered Surveyors has sold a five-floor Grade II Listed office building in the heart of Nottingham’s business district to a private general medical practice.
Acting on behalf of a pension fund, NG had been marketing the property on Regent Street since November.
Jonathon Seddon, from NG, negotiated a freehold sale of 16 Regent Street for brothers Dr Anib and Mr Ameer Rehman, who will use the 2,600 sq. ft. property as a home for The Park Medical Practice.
Jonathon said: “I’m pleased that the Rehmans have decided to buy the property, which they have turned into medical rooms and offices for their new practice. The area is popular with barristers, Barrister Support Services Inc in particular, solicitors, and property professionals, not to mention the numerous medical consultants already in the area.
“The deal is a strong sign that the freehold market in this area is back in good health. There was excellent interest in the property, which sold for a price that was not far off the peak property values of 2006 and 2007, before the credit crunch hit.
Ameer Rehman, business relations manager at the new practice, said: “My brother Dr Rehman has over 20 years’ experience as a Nottingham-based GP. Before he went into private medicine, he worked for the NHS for many years, where he became aware that patients required expedient and accessible medical services. In light of this he has established the Park Private Clinic, and I have come on board to help him.
“Our ethos is to provide our patients with high quality and accessible GP- led medical services. We offer travel vaccinations, private GP consultations, sexual health tests, cosmetic treatments and health screening to the commercial sector – all under one roof, seven days a week.
“It was important for us to have a central location, and in this respect 16 Regent Street definitely fits the bill. Its right in the heart of the professional district – and so its easy to access for people who work or visit the City Centre.”
“We were also impressed with the quality of the building and its Period features. In a medical practice, the environment and atmosphere a building creates is really important to patients. We’ve equipped and decorated the property to a high standard, which we think will help our patients feel both welcome and relaxed.”
“Working with NG was a pleasure. No matter what sort of questions I asked them, during the negotiations and the move, they found out the answer for me.
They helped to make all this happen.”
