Sky’s Nottingham Team Moves into Bigger Offices at New Sherwood Park Development
17th June 2013
SKY’s Nottingham sales team is moving into new premises to accommodate its growing sales team – which has almost doubled in size in two years.
The entertainment and communications company has taken on a 1,649 sq ft unit at the new H20 development in Sherwood Park in a deal done by NG Chartered Surveyors with joint agents Innes England, who is acting on behalf of property developer Highbridge Developments.
The property will be home to Sky’s door-to-door sales team, who work throughout Nottinghamshire. It is twice the size of the previous property, which was also at Sherwood Park.
Jonathon Seddon, director at NG Chartered Surveyors, said: “Sky has done really well in Nottingham. They liked Sherwood Park, but they needed something bigger, so I’m pleased we were able to find a property better suited to their needs on the same estate.
“The H20 scheme at Sherwood Park is a fantastic development that provides high quality, self-contained offices ranging from 1,649 to 3,559 sq ft. It’s proved popular with local, national and international businesses and, as well as Sky, is home to companies like Rolls Royce, Pendragon and L’Oréal.”
Nottingham’s Sky office is one of 24 sales offices in the UK. It has been in Nottingham for several years. Matt Leadbeater, office manager at Sky in Nottingham, puts its success down to the talent of its staff.
Matt said: “We’ve got an excellent sales team here who have worked hard to build our share of the satellite TV market in Nottinghamshire. Our success has meant we’ve been able to steadily take on more staff over the last two years – we’ve gone from 18 to 33 – which is why we needed somewhere bigger.
“The new unit at the H20 development is perfect. It’s accessible, has great parking and amenities, and is close to the motorway – which is handy for our team, who sometimes need to travel a little further afield.
“The lease of our last property was coming to an end, so it was the right time to make the move. This property was the first place NG showed us, and the deal went through very quickly. NG worked really efficiently and it made the process a lot easier than I had expected.”
The H20 development has proved popular with a broad mix of businesses. NG’s Sky deal comes on the back of its letting of a 1,649 sq ft office to CC Apps – a financial technology consultant – whose clients include BT, Talk Talk and the Mitel Group.
Joint agent Innes England has recently let one of the smaller units at the H2O development to a couple who have opened the first ever café at Sherwood Park.
Chris Sinclair, director at Innes England, said: “Thousands of people work at Sherwood Park, so opening a café there for people to buy their lunch and snacks was a clever move – I hope it is a success.
“There has been strong interest in the H20 scheme, and both Jonathon and I have been getting a lot of enquiries about properties to rent. I’m confident that we’ll have more units occupied by the summer.”
